New BAS MY Kuching Bus Routes were introduced in May 26, expanding their network by adding new routes while a few of the older routes have been withdrawn or suspended. BAS.MY buses are the pink buses you can see on Kuching's roads and all their routes begin with the letter Q.
Here are the routes available now together with advice on the tourist attractions you can visit on each route.

Bus Route Q01 - Open Air Market to Malilah
This route is off the tourist beaten track and there is not a great deal to interest the sightseer. Having said that, there is an impressive and 'grammable' Taoist temple on the edge of Malihah. H&L Malihah would be the closest bus stop.

Bus Route Q05 - Saujana to SMK Agama Matang 2
This bus will take you to Kubah National Park (the nearest stop is Family Park). It also stops at Taman Jubilee Mas Recreation park (a pretty area but a rather run-down picnic spot).

Bus Route Q06 - Saujana to Kampung Benuk
This bus can take you to various hospitals and shopping malls. In terms of tourist attractions, it stops outside the Pitcher Plant Garden, Padawan (stop called Opposite SJK Chung Hua Batu 10) and also the Semenggoh Nature Reserve which is the best place to see orangutans within easy reach of Kuching. A more quirky landmark on this bus route is the Rajah Charles Brooke Memorial Hospital which was originally opened as a leper settlement during the reign of Sarawak's second Rajah. It has historical significance but it is still a working hospital so not really a tourist attraction.

Bus Route Q07 - Saujana to SJKC Hua Batu Kawa
This route begins by following the route of Kuching's old 10 mile long railway line which operated on and off between 1915 - 1947. The tracks are long gone. Take this bus to visit the Youth and Sports Complex (Kompleks Belia Sukan). If you want to visit Batu Kawa Riverbank Park you should alight at Batu Kawa Commercial Centre.

Bus Route Q08 - Open Air Market to Terminal Bas Bau
This route goes to the popular tourism attraction of Bau via KBS Buddhist Village (Buddhist Village stop) and Paku Rock Maze Garden (SMK Paku stop. In Bau town, the bus stops near St. Stephen's Church before arriving at the Bus Terminal in the middle of town. On the way back to Kuching the bus passes by the heritage village of Siniawan but oddly does not seem to stop there.

Bus Route Q09 - Open Air Market to Muara Tebas
This is the bus to take for the popular destinations of Bako National Park and the interesting village of Muara Tebas. For Bako National Park you should get off at the Terminal Bako stop which is right in front of the National Parks Boat Ticketing Office.

Bus Route Q10 - Open Air Market to Serian
This is a relatively long distance route, around 60km each way. In Kuching the route stops near The Spring shopping mall and opposite Vivacity shopping mall (though I'm not sure how you are supposed to cross a busy six lane highway to enter the mall in the absence of a pedestrian bridge)! If you want to go to Jong's Crocodile Farm & Zoo you should alight at SJK Chung Hua Siburan. It's a 10 minute (1km) walk from the bus stop. There is a bus stop on the other side of the road for your return journey. Ranchan Recreational Park and Waterfall is a short 8 minute Grab/taxi ride from Serian Bus Terminal.

Bus Route Q11 - Saujana to Arang Road
This is more of an urban commuter route with no significant tourist attractions that I have discovered so far.

Bus Route Q12 - Saujana to Taman Hui Sing
This route passes the Chinese Museum, in front of MBKS park and mini museum, and The Spring Shopping Mall among others.

Bus Route Q13 - Open Air Market to Siburan
This bus also goes near Jong's Crocodile Farm (Siburan stop) as well as Farley Shopping Mall, SK Hardware store, and more.

Bus Route Q14 - Open Air Market to Summer Mall
This bus goes to the south east outskirts of Kuching as far as Summer Mall.

Bus Route Q15 - Stutong Baru/Kuching Sentral to Saujana
This bus stops in front of Kuching International Airport terminal building, with stops at Aeroville Mall, Stutong Market, St Peter's Church (Lot 10 Boutique Hotel) and the Waterfront among others.

Bus Route Q16 - Open Air Market to Taman Sukma
This bus route includes the Petrajaya area of Kuching with stops at/near the State Library, DBKY/Bukit Siol (for the Cat Museum) and others.
To encourage bus usage among commuters, fares were revised downwards in March 2025 and now range from a minimum of RM0.90 to a maximum of RM7.10, depending on distance.
For tourists the easiest methods to pay are by cash or by contactless debit/credit cards (Visa and MasterCard accepted).
Locals can also use e-wallets and a 30-day RM50 unlimited pass.
Concessions with free rides are available for local seniors (60+), students, and OKU (persons with disabilities).
Varies by route, see each image for first and last bus times.
Buses run every hour.
Now you just need to know where to catch the buses. Most routes originate at the Saujana Bus Terminal or the Open Air Market Bus Terminal in Kuching. They are not far from each other and their locations are as follows:
Saujana Bus Terminal Kuching
This is outside the rather hideous building located opposite the beautiful Sikh temple in Kuching.
